And...here is my first official post with pictures from my new DSLR! I'm so happy with how they turned out and was excited that I knew enough about my camera to instruct Andrew on how to use it. All those hours locked up in my room reading that manual seemed to have paid off!
Anyway, these pictures were taken before Andrew took me out for a (very early) birthday dinner at a new Italian restaurant that I have been wanting to try all summer. Even though we will be together for my birthday in Ireland, it's sort of a tradition for us to go out for my birthday when we are both back home. Plus, it was a great excuse for me to wear my lace shift dress that I recently snagged at H&M for $15! I was instantly drawn to this dress because it has a very retro feel to it and I loved the cut. While I am always tempted to belt shift dresses (proof) and I actually did earlier in the day when I wore it to my internship, I'm glad I wore it unbelted because it felt a little dressier and I didn't have to awkwardly loosen my belt buckle after our meal. Always a good thing.
These pictures turned out really great and I love this dress on you. I like how you styled it with the necklace and boots.

ReplyDeleteThe new camera is great! I love the shot with the close-up of the necklace. Greetings from Atlanta. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh ma god! Such a good H&M find!! You look so chic and gorgeous, as always :)
ReplyDeleteI refuse to purchase a shift dress because I know I will just ruin it by just belting it.Always.
It looks so great on you...and so doesn't need a belt. Love.
p.s.these photos look so nice! what kind of dslr did you get?! I <3 my old trusy Nikon.

ReplyDeleteand I decided on a canon rebel t3..pretty much the most basic dslr which is perfect for me since I'm a beginner!
thank you, Mary Ann!
ReplyDeleteWow, you can really see the difference in picture quality, and what a cute dress! I agree it looks good unbelted, and when I walked past an H&M (not inside because they were pumping out that weird perfume that smells of factory - do you get that in the US?) I saw a matching jacket. You know, if you'd wanna go even more Jackie O. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely dress! The booties are perfection with it! These are beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI laughed about the awkwardly loosening your belt thing..that is SO me every time we go to dinner. Why do I keep wearing belts? Haha.
