I am quickly learning that the key to successfully dressing in chilly weather is layers. Ireland has a tendency to change weather rather quickly, so it can be sunny and (kind of) warm one minute, then cold and rainy the next. I have gotten into the habit of packing an extra cardigan and scarf in my backpack everyday to combat the changing weather. This layered ensemble is something I typically wear on a temperate 50-something degree day. Don't ask me what I'm going to do when it gets colder, because I don't know...and I'm a little scared.
My floral scarf has been one of my go-to accessories on this trip, because it is light, portable, and adds a pop of color to every outfit. I also love that it works nicely with other prints, especially stripes. If you take a look at my current wardrobe, about 80% of it is striped. So...chances are you will probably see me in some version of stripes (+ my favorite floral scarf) on any given day.
I just recently came across your blog - love the clothes - have been frantically searching ebay for lots of items!
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you, as a California girl living in Dublin for 6 years (Irish husband), you will soon develop a love affair with lovely coats. Belted, cocoon, military, pea - there are so many fabulous coats. Boots and coats are in your future! And wool accessories, oh so many.
thanks for following along! And yeah... I have only been here a month and a half and I'm already obsessed with all the outerwear! i can't buy too many coats though since I will have no place to wear them when I'm back in LA...haha
