Shadow

Get the look: 

Well, say hello to me and my shadow. I decided to switch up my picture-taking spot, and was left with the harsh lighting of this empty parking lot. But somehow, I think it kind of works with this black and white ensemble. I was going back into my blog archives, and saw I wore some version of this outfit almost exactly two years ago. However, I think I like this dress a little better with a denim vest so you can see the sleeves.

In other news, this weekend was great and felt like it lasted forever. There was lots of celebrating with good friends and it was just what I needed after a stressful couple of weeks. And now...happy Monday!

Don't ask me how/why...but I somehow look tan in these photos? Let me assure you though, I am not actually this tan, nor have I been indulging in self tanner these past few months (unfortunately, that's actually a really popular thing here). Anyway, hooray for an actual outfit post! To be honest, I have been pretty lazy about taking photos of my outfits on a daily basis, and have just been relying on my weekend trips to snap outfit/travel photos. This also means that you have really only been seeing the same combos over and over again, since I tend to gravitate towards the same few pieces when packing for trips.

I wore this outfit a few weeks back, before the Irish cold set in. Now, it hardly reaches 40 degrees and I wouldn't be caught dead outside in such a light coat! Here's to 3 more weeks until I'm back in sunny California :)

Ever since I saw Because I Said So, I have been dying to find the perfect polka dot dress like this one. (If you have seen the movie and love it as much as I do/have a weird obsession with it and think it's the best thing since sliced bread...then you will know exactly which dress I'm talking about.) And guess what...the other day I finally found it! It stared me straight in the face the second I walked over to Urban Outfitters' sale rack...and begged me to try it on. Did I care that it looked weird and shapeless on the hanger? no. Do I care that the online picture makes it look matronly? no. 

Why? Because it was love at first shop...(and it is neither shapeless nor matronly when you actually put it on!)

Anyways, I decided to wear my lovely find on my first day off of work since winter break has started! It was a lovely day of shopping, eating, coffee drinking, and renting Beginners on DVD. And I couldn't have asked for a better person to spend it with.

Sometimes...he likes to pretend he has his own set of paparazzi.
