Around the World

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

My spring break is going to be filled with lots of errands. I've got three appointments I avoided making all quarter, and a whole lot of sleep to catch up on. Funny story: last night I took a nap at 6pm...and woke up at 3am. That's definitely going to be good for keeping my sleep schedule regular...

I wore this outfit a few nights ago to dinner with my family. I didn't bring too many clean clothes home for spring break, so while I slowly tackle my pile of laundry, I have been rotating the same few pieces everyday. Luckily, these jeans don't get dirty too easily, and this jacket matches with pretty much everything! I have also been wearing my new map watch from Urban almost non-stop since I got it. I'm a sucker for map prints, and this watch is no exception. It's a nice reminder of all the places I have been in the past year...and all the places I still have yet to see :)

Rome-ing Around

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Here are some of my favorite photos from our two crazy days in Rome. They were taken in the Ancient City, the Vatican, and a cute little wine shop where Andrew got sad when I told him we couldn't take more than three bottles home in our luggage.

Sometimes, life just ain't so easy, my love.

All Roads Lead to Rome

{What I'm Wearing: Top—Anthropologie "Stripes of Citrus Boatneck" (shop), Skirt—Nordstrom BP, Sandals—Target}
After three fun days in Florence, we packed our bags and took a train down to Rome. With only two days to see all the major monuments in the city, Andrew and I were ambitious and decided to visit the Pantheon, Forum, and Colosseum all in one day. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our visit to the Colosseum!

P.S. In the second to last picture I look like I'm about to get run over by the horse-drawn carriage. I'd just like to set the record straight and say that, yes, I almost did get run over/trampled by the scary tour group that was walking right on our heels as Andrew snapped my picture. Travel Tip: When you see a large group of people all wearing matching lanyards and headphones...RUN!!!

Rocket Science

Friday, August 24, 2012

{Top—Anthropologie "Stripes of Citrus Boatneck" (shop), Necklace—vintage (similar), Shorts—Joe's Jeans}

So...I sold both my kidneys and bought a DSLR camera. However, having only ever used a cheap point-and-shoot, my transition into DSLR-land has been a bit more difficult than expected. Above is the only picture that sort of came out from my first attempt at doing self timer on my new SLR.

Seriously people. I stayed up until 2am last night reading my new camera manual and doing test shots in my room and I'm still clueless. And I have come to the extremely educated conclusion that photography is like rocket science—just without the complicated physics and large aerodynamic aircrafts...
