Cloudy Day

Monday, February 13, 2012

What I'm Wearing:
Top: Forever 21
Cardigan: dELiA*s
Jeans: Joe's Jeans
Scarf: Forever 21
Earrings: Anthropologie
Shoes: Sperry's
I wore this outfit last Monday. From what I can remember, it was gloomy and rainy—exactly like it is today. On days like this, all I want to do is curl up in bed and wear a comfy cardigan and loose boyfriend jeans. This certainly isn't one of my most fashionable outfits, but it's a simple and classic mix. The point of this blog, after all, is to document my personal style, and a lot of the time (especially on weekends) I stick to this sort of casual uniform.

Anyway, I'm off to study for my last midterm of the quarter that was conveniently scheduled for Valentine's Day morning. That leaves the rest of the day free to celebrate and spend time with my love. (I've somehow convinced him to see The Vow with me, and considering the fact that I am slightly obsessed with both Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams...I'm really excited.)

Happy Monday!

What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Anthropologie "Dotline Boatneck"
Jeans: Holding Horses
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Flats: Anthropologie
Coral and turquoise together is one of my favorite color combinations. So, when I snagged this shirt on sale, I knew exactly what necklace I wanted to pair with it to make it a little more funky and a little less preppy.

I am beginning to find that my style revolves around balance and moderation. While I love to play around with different looks, I always find myself balancing out my outfits so that they remain classic and don't stray from one extreme to the other. Anyone feel the same way?

Rosie

What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Forever 21
Cardigan: H&M
Jeans: Holding Horses via Anthropologie
Bag: Fossil
Scarf (as headband): borrowed
Flats: Steve Madden
I have been suffering from an annoying cold these past few days. Advil cold & sinus and coffee have been the only things getting me through the day. You can't see it in these pictures (because I used sunglasses as a clever disguise...) but my eyes are all red and puffy and my nose is quite red.

This is the only outfit I have blogged since coming down with this cold, because the thought of taking pictures with my puffy eyes and bright red nose simply did not sound appealing. I only managed to snap photos of my outfit today because I was feeling slightly better this afternoon...and was also feeling guilty about not blogging any outfits for a week.

Anyway, the first thing I thought when I put on this head scarf was that I looked like Rosie the Riveter. Perhaps I am slightly less tough, but I would say my whole ensemble has the same general color scheme as those classic wartime posters.

Really...the resemblance is uncanny.
