A Very Velvet Holiday

Get the look:
Working in Downtown LA has exposed me to the wonderful world of sample sales. A couple weeks ago, my coworkers and I made a quick stop at a couple sales in the Cooper Design Space during our lunch break. I wasn't planning on buying anything until I found this unique velvet jacket from Gypsy Junkies and knew I "had" to get it for the holidays. It's kind of funky and definitely not something I can wear everyday, but it's the perfect piece to dress up a casual t-shirt and jeans. Next time, I think I'll pair it with a simple black dress or a skirt and tights.

I don't know what it is...but there's just something about December that makes me want to dress up everyday and wear shiny velvet jackets out in public. Ever since we put up our apartment Christmas tree, I've really been getting into the holiday spirit. This "holiday spirit" mainly includes eating chocolates from my Advent calendar and buying peppermint pretzels from Trader Joe's. Also, my friends and I are having an apartment holiday party at the end of this week before everyone goes home and I can't wait. Let the Pinterest-ing of fun holiday cocktails begin...
